Retina Group of Washington in Annapolis, MD is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to support physicians with diagnostic testing, measurements, and documentation vital to patient evaluation and treatment planning.
You will perform tests such as OCT, visual fields, photography, pachymetry and biometry, assist with exams, and maintain EMR records while delivering compassionate, accurate patient care in a fast-paced ophthalmic setting.

Compensation: $18.00 - $34.68 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Position Summary: The Ophthalmic Assistant plays a vital role in supporting physicians by performing a variety of diagnostic tests, measurements, and clinical procedures essential to patient evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment planning. This individual is responsible for accurately documenting patient information in accordance with clinical, regulatory, and organizational standards while delivering exceptional patient care and service throughout the visit. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compassionate, and committed to providing a positive patient experience in a fast-paced ophthalmic practice
Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED). Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline preferred.
OA-I Experience: 0-2 years of prior ophthalmic assistant experience
OA-II Experience: 2+ years of prior ophthalmic assistant experience
An office environment with a controlled atmosphere. Possible exposure to staff or patients with communicable diseases and blood borne pathogens.
Vision (Near, Distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth Perception), normal range of hearing, ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (gloves, face mask, eye shield, gown), standing for long periods of time.
