Prism Vision Group’s NJRetina in Eatontown, NJ is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant for an onsite, non-exempt role. The position supports physicians with measurements, tests, and documentation, and provides excellent patient service.

The role involves history taking, testing (OCT, visual fields, photography, pachymetry, biometry), scribing, and assisting with medications while ensuring accurate charting and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Education: HS Diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• OA1 Experience: 0-2 years ophthalmic assistant experience.
• OAII Experience: 2+ years ophthalmic assistant experience.
• Knowledge of patient privacy and compliance standards.

Responsabilités

• Reviews patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
• Takes ocular/systemic history and records visual acuity.
• Performs scheduled tests (OCT, visual fields, photography, pachymetry).
• Acts as scribe and documents in EMR or paper charts.
• Assists with medications and patient education.
