Job summary

The NJRetina location in Edison, NJ, part of Prism Vision Group, is seeking an onsite Ophthalmic Assistant. This non-exempt role conducts measurements and tests to support physicians in diagnosis and treatment planning and assists our Clinical Research team as needed.

You will perform ocular and systemic history taking, record visual acuity, operate OCT and other ophthalmic instruments, document in EMR, assist with medications, and help manage patient flow and exam rooms while maintaining high

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 0–2 years ophthalmic assistant experience; 2+ years preferred.
• Display accuracy, reliability and ability to work in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Review patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
• Take ocular and systemic history and record visual acuity.
• Perform testing (OCT, visual fields, photography, pachymetry, biometry) as scheduled.
• Assist physician with exams, data entry into EMR, and patient education.
• Prepare and administer ophthalmic medications and oversee patient flow.
