You will perform clinical testing, assist with exams and procedures, and help keep busy ophthalmic clinics running smoothly.

In this role you will greet and intake patients, perform comprehensive ophthalmic workups, and document findings in the EHR.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 6 months to 1 year of ophthalmology or optometry experience is required.
• ICA‑accredited training or IJCAHPO/AAO independent study preferred.
• COA or COT certification is preferred.
• BLS certification is preferred.
• Willingness to travel between CEENTA sites.

Responsibilities

• Greet, room, and perform patient intake including vision history and complaints.
• Obtain and document medical/surgical history, chief complaints, HPI, vitals, meds, and allergies in the EHR.
• Perform comprehensive ophthalmic workups and testing (VA, fields, pupil, tonometry, refraction, etc.).
• Complete specialty testing (OCT, visual fields, topography, biometry).
• Assist Providers with exams, treatments, and in‑office procedures; administer meds as directed.
• Serve as a scribe when needed and ensure accurate documentation in the EHR.
• Schedule appointments, in‑office procedures, and surgeries; maintain provider schedules.
• Manage work queues and index clinical documents in the EHR.
• Clean and restock exam rooms; maintain OSHA‑compliant safety standards.
• Maintain clinic supply inventory and place orders as needed.
• Support onboarding and training of new staff and apprentices.
• Collaborate with Providers to ensure efficient patient flow and high‑quality care.
• Travel to other CEENTA locations as needed.
