Job summary

CEENTA in Charlotte seeks a compassionate Ophthalmic Assistant to support Providers in delivering high‑quality patient care. You will perform clinical testing, assist with exams and procedures, document findings in the EHR, and help keep busy clinics running smoothly.

You’ll greet patients, obtain medical history, schedule appointments, prepare rooms and equipment, and travel to other CEENTA locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Compassionate and detail‑oriented ophthalmic assistant.
• Supports Providers in delivering high‑quality patient care.
• Performs clinical testing and help with exams and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet, room, and perform patient intake and vision history.
• Obtain medical history, chief complaint, HPI, vitals, meds, and allergies in the EHR.
• Conduct comprehensive ophthalmic workups ( acuity, fields, pupil, tonometry, keratometry, refraction, etc.).
• Assist Providers with exams, treatments, and in‑office procedures; administer medications as directed.
• Serve as a scribe when needed; ensure accurate, timely documentation.
• Schedule appointments, procedures, and surgeries; manage provider schedules.
