Prism Vision Group is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant for the NJRetina office in Lawrenceville, NJ. This onsite, non-exempt role supports physicians with measurements, testing and patient documentation to aid diagnosis and treatment planning.

The candidate will perform tests such as OCT and visual fields, document findings, and assist with medications and patient education while maintaining compliance and high service standards. Some travel to other sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• OA1 Experience: 0–2 years ophthalmic assistant experience.
• OAII Experience: 2+ years ophthalmic assistant experience.

Responsabilités

• Reviews patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
• Records ocular and systemic history and visual acuity.
• Performs tests as required (OCT, automated visual fields, photography, pachymetry, biometry).
• Performs lensometry, automated refractometry, slit lamp exams, tonometry and related assessments.
• Acts as scribe entering data into EMR or paper charts.
• Administers topical ophthalmic or oral medications.
• Ensures adherence to procedures and informed consent.
• Assists with patient education and manages patient flow.
• Maintains exam room cleanliness and orderliness.
• Complies with regulations and reports errors as needed.
