Qualifications

  • OA1 Experience: 0–2 years ophthalmic assistant experience.
  • OAII Experience: 2+ years ophthalmic assistant experience.
  • Education and certifications requirements as stated in the posting.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews patient charts to ensure completeness and accuracy of information.
  • Takes ocular and systemic history and records visual acuity.
  • Performs tests such as OCT, automated visual fields, photography, pachymetry, and biometry.
  • Performs lensometry, automated refractometry, slit lamp exam and tonometry.
  • Assists with data entry into EMR and documentation.
  • Administers topical ophthalmic or oral medications.
  • Ensure informed consent and compliance with procedures.
  • Maintains exam room cleanliness and patient flow throughout the day.
