Job summary

Qualifications

• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• CPR certification required.
• One year work experience, preferably in an eye-related field.

Responsibilities

• Performs preliminary screenings including medical/ocular histories, visual acuity, tonometry, lensometry, pupil exam, and visual field testing.
• Maintains ophthalmic exam lanes/equipment and cleans equipment per guidelines.
• Ensures exam rooms are stocked and organized.
• Interacts professionally with patients, families, coworkers, and physicians while maintaining confidentiality.
• Maintains CPR certification and ongoing professional development as required by JCAHPO.
• Under physician direction, may perform prescription refills following guidelines.
• Delivers quality patient care and serves as a role model.
• Performs other duties as needed.
