Job summary

Atrium Health's Ophthalmology department at Davie Medical Center in Bermuda Run, NC is seeking a Full-time Ophthalmic Assistant. Mon-Fri, 8a-5p, no weekends; duties include preliminary screenings, testing, and patient care under physician supervision.

Must have COA, high school diploma, CPR, and at least 1 year in ophthalmology. We offer a $6,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates, Day 1 health coverage, and generous PTO starting at 25 days per year, with additional benefits and annual pay

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• COA certification from JCAHPO required.
• CPR certification required (AHA or Red Cross).
• One year ophthalmic-related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary screenings and ophthalmic tests per physician orders.
• Maintain and clean ophthalmic equipment and exam rooms.
• Ensure exam lanes are stocked and organized.
• Interact professionally with patients, families, staff; protect confidentiality.
• Pursue ongoing competency and CPR certification.
• Assist under physician direction with prescribed refills.
