Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a dedicated ophthalmic assistant for the Greensboro Eye Center North Elm location. You will perform preliminary screenings, visual acuity, tonometry, and related tests under physician guidance, while maintaining clean exam lanes and good patient flow.

Responsibilities include assisting with patient histories, test administration, and ensuring safety and confidentiality in a fast-paced clinic. CPR certification and eye-related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification (AHA or ARC) required.
• One year of work experience, preferably in an eye-related field.

Responsibilities

• Performs preliminary screenings and ocular tests as ordered by physician.
• Maintains exam lanes/equipment and ensures rooms are stocked.
• Interacts with patients, families, and staff with professionalism and confidentiality.
• Maintains CPR certification during employment and participates in ongoing education.
• Under physician direction, may perform prescription refills per guidelines.
