Job summary

St. Elizabeth Physicians is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to provide clinical support to physicians and APPs. You will collect medical history, perform initial exams and ancillary testing, and ensure compliance with OSHA and HIPAA regulations.

The role includes preparing patients for exams, maintaining accurate charts, and assisting with minor in-office procedures. The position offers regular hours, no night shifts, and opportunities for certification and career growth within ophthalmology.

Qualifications

• ABR-OE certification within 90 days of employment is required to begin training.
• COA designation within 18 months of hire is expected.
• Experience in ophthalmology is preferred but training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Document patient history and prepare for dilated exam.
• Provide patient care with clear directions and answer questions.
• Perform ancillary tests (OPD, OCT, visual fields, keratometry).
• Assist with minor in-office procedures under provider direction.
• Maintain supplies and clean exam rooms and dilating areas.
