Job summary

University Hospitals in Hudson and Eastside is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to support physicians in ambulatory eye care, obtain patient histories, perform visual acuity and basic diagnostic testing, and assist with patient education and scribing.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in a healthcare environment (preferred).
• Basic understanding of contact lens usage.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers in ambulatory settings.
• Take patient ocular and medical history.
• Perform visual acuity testing.
• Conduct diagnostic tests under supervision (e.g., visual fields, keratometry, pachymetry, IOP).
• Scribe for physicians.
• Provide patient education and other services as requested.
• Maintain PHI and comply with policies.
