Job Summary

The primary responsibility is to drive concrete mixers to work sites and discharge loads, operating in various conditions including uneven ground. This includes unloading and attaching extension chutes weighing 30 to 50 pounds. The role ensures the safe and efficient operation of the ready-mix truck for product delivery.

Job Responsibilities

1. Safely operate the truck, adhering to DOT regulations and area road laws.
2. Check loads for safety and appropriateness.
3. Estimate concrete slump and distinguish proper mixes and color differences.
4. Verify delivery instructions with plant personnel.
5. Maintain excellent customer service and develop relationships with clients.
6. Keep equipment clean and in good condition.
7. Complete pre and post-trip inspections and perform roadside repairs if necessary.
8. Maintain knowledge of traffic routes and adhere to safety standards.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL A or B license.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Acceptable CSA and MVR records with no recent DUI/DWI and limited moving violations.
• High school diploma preferred; bilingual skills a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Basic arithmetic skills including addition and subtraction.

Working Conditions

• Exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, and outdoor environments.
• Use of protective equipment required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk, sit, lift, push, pull, and climb.
• Capability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally.
• Must pass DOT physical including back x-ray, hearing, and drug screening.
