Job summary

Martin Construction, Inc. seeks a hydro excavation operator to perform utility exposure, debris removal, trenching, and digging on outdoor sites. The role requires working in variable climates and extended shifts with strict safety practices.

Responsibilities include operating hydrovac trucks, conducting pre/post inspections, and ensuring equipment is well maintained. OSHA 10 is required within 30 days of hire; CDL may be preferred or required depending on site needs.

Qualifications

• Willing to work outdoors in extreme climates.
• Operate hydrovac trucks safely and professionally.
• Perform pre- and post-inspections and routine maintenance.
• Able to sit, lift, bend, stoop, kneel, reach and crawl repetitively.
• Able to work extended hours and variable shifts.
• HAZWOPPER, TENORM, H2S, Confined Space and Rescue, First Aid training preferred.
• OSHA 10 required within 30 days of hire.
• Assist fellow crew members; may entail manual labor outside your trade.
• Class A CDL preferred; Class B CDL acceptable.
• May work around hazardous materials.
• Hydrovac experience preferred.
• Set up and inspect grounding/bonding procedures for hydrovac operation.
• PPE required.
• Must pass pre-employment background and drug screening.
• Driver's License required.
• Complete paperwork properly and submit on time.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Qualifications

• Work outdoors - perhaps in some extreme climates


• Operate hydrovac trucks and equipment in a safe and professional manner, ensure hydrovac truck and all equipment are in good working condition


• Preform pre and post inspections, as well as routine maintenance


• Must be able to sit, lift, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach and crawl repetitively


• Must be capable of working extended hours and variable shifts


• HAZWOPPER, TENORM, H2S, Confine Space and Rescue, First Aid, training preferred


• OSHA 10, required within 30 days of hire


• Assist fellow crew members wherever required to get the job done (may entail manual labor and/or be outside your ticketed trade)


• Class A CDL preferred, Class B CDL Acceptable


• May work around some hazardous material


• Hydrovac experience preferred

• Personal Protective equipment (PPE) required
