American Boring INC is seeking an experienced Hydrovac Operator to join our team based in Carroll, OH. You will operate hydrovac trucks, perform soft excavation, and ensure safety on active construction sites while exposing underground utilities.

The role requires CDL Class A, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safe excavation practices. Travel to job sites as needed; in-person work location.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating hydrovac or vacuum excavation trucks.
• Valid CDL Class A license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operate hydrovac trucks and related heavy equipment safely and efficiently
• Perform soft excavation using high-pressure water and vacuum systems to expose underground utilities
• Ensure all digging operations are performed safely to avoid utility strikes or damage
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on hydrovac equipment
• Troubleshoot minor mechanical or operational issues in the field
• Transport equipment and materials to and from job sites as needed (CDL required)
• Collaborate with crews, operators, and supervisors to complete excavation projects
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times
• Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Hydrovac Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating hydrovac trucks to safely excavate and expose underground utilities. This role requires strong heavy equipment operating experience, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safe excavation practices on active construction sites.

The Hydrovac Operator plays a critical role in preventing utility damage while efficiently completing excavation work using vacuum and high-pressure water systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate hydrovac trucks and related heavy equipment safely and efficiently
• Perform soft excavation using high-pressure water and vacuum systems to expose underground utilities
• Ensure all digging operations are performed safely to avoid utility strikes or damage

• Construction or underground utility experience preferred but not required

Experience

• Heavy equipment operation: 2 years preferred
• Hydrovac / Vacuum Excavation: 2 years preferred
