Job summary

Wenger Manufacturing Inc in Kentucky is seeking an entry-level grinder to smooth and finish manufactured parts. You will examine surfaces for defects, select abrasives, and operate grinders to remove scratches and burrs, contributing to the overall finishing process.

This role requires good communication, teamwork, and ability to meet deadlines, with physical demands such as lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods in a manufacturing environment; forklift certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow tasks and meet deadlines per KPI.
• ERP system literacy required or willingness to learn.
• Must pass physical capacity and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Examines and feels surface of workpiece for defects.
• Selects grade of abrasive belt, wheel, or disk according to specifications and attaches to grinder.
• Starts grinder and moves it over surface of part to remove scratches, rust and burrs.
• Polishes ground area with finer abrasive to produce a smooth, unmarred surface.
• Replaces worn abrasive disks, wheels and belts.
• Operate lift truck with certification.
• Other duties assigned due to the need of the business.
• Manufacturing environment: may be exposed to loud noises, machinery with moving parts.
• bending, stooping, twist, turn, standing for extended time periods, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50lbs occasionally.
