This entry level position requires strong communication, interpersonal and team building skills to support the organization. Essential Functions * Examines and feels surface of workpiece for defects.* Selects grade of abrasive belt, wheel, or disk according to specifications, knowledge of abrasives and condition of metal and attaches to grinder.* Starts grinder and moves it over surface of part to remove scratches, rust and burrs.* Polishes ground area with finer abrasive to produce a smooth, unmarred surface.* Replaces worn abrasive disks, wheels and belts.* Operate lift truck with certification.* Other duties assigned due to the need of the business.Physical/Environmental Requirements * Manufacturing environment: may be exposed to loud noises, machinery with moving parts.* Bending, stooping, twist, turn, standing for extended time periods, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50lbs occasionally.Skills and Abilities * Good communication skills and ability to work in a multi-discipline team environment.* Ability to execute agreed tasks and deadlines against performance criteria (KPI)* Computer/ERP literate* Result orientation, ability to follow through and respect deadlines.* Proactive and organized.* Ability to manage confidential information.* Physical Capacity Profile/Drug screen required.
