Position Summary

The Forklift and Materials Handler (Stager) reports to the Supply Chain Supervisor and is based out of our Hendersonville, North Carolina location. This individual will be responsible for staging and returning raw material ingredients for all production lines using a forklift and our inventory control system (QAD/RF Scanning). Responsibilities include staging ingredients based on company needs, organizing and maintaining existing inventory, practicing FEFO, reading production schedules, and Pro-Guides.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (essential Functions Of The Job)

• Printing and reviewing the current production schedule, FEFO report, and using QAD for ingredient information, including printing batch sheets and Pro-Guides.
• Using RF Scanner system to ensure all containers are scanned to their current physical location, mindful of ingredients in Z-Hold, Lab Test, RD Stat, or Expired Status, which cannot be staged for production.
• Completing batch sheets by calculating and recording Brix, acid, color, and country of origin of staged ingredients.
• Handling temperature-sensitive ingredients properly to prevent spoilage.
• Ensuring ingredient rotation, staging the oldest first, and reporting discrepancies related to item location.
• Using forklifts or handling equipment to move materials to/from coolers/freezers to the blending area.
• Planning and pulling correct ingredient amounts for the blending department.
• Communicating turnover information to the next shift/stager and blending department.
• Cleaning coolers and freezers regularly, maintaining container cleanliness, and pallet integrity.
• Using limited experience and judgment to accomplish goals.
• Ensuring food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, and reporting safety issues.
• Adhering to SQF requirements and working with supervision to resolve safety and quality issues.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Education And Experience

Minimum Required Qualifications

• 2-4 years of related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Excellent time management skills.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the food/beverage industry and manufacturing or production environment (a plus).
• Ability to direct, coach, and train others.
• Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proven organizational skills.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

This role requires physical ability to work in an office setting, operate a motor vehicle, and work in the field as needed, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, bending, and other physical activities described.
