Job summary

TriSearch in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking an Operator Academy Lead / Training Manager to build and lead a high-performance training program for a rapidly scaling manufacturing operation. You will own end-to-end operator development from day one through training, assessment, certification, and transition into production.

The role focuses on turning new hires into capable operators, embedding IPC/WHMA-A-620 quality principles, and creating scalable processes to graduate dozens of technicians weekly

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in manufacturing training or production supervision.
• Hands-on experience with wire harness, cable assembly, or electromechanical processes.
• Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards; certification is preferred.
• Strong instructional design, coaching, and communication skills.
• Ability to turn complex processes into clear, practical training.
• Experience creating or improving a training program, curriculum, or certification.
• Hands-on leadership and willingness to spend significant time on the production floor.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and continuously improve a weekly Operator Academy curriculum.
• Create hands-on training covering equipment operation, process/HMI fundamentals, wire processing, assembly, and quality requirements.
• Develop training around smart manufacturing workflows, digital work instructions, formboard processes, defect identification, and troubleshooting.
• Establish a structured progression from foundational skills through final certification.
• Create a repeatable onboarding and training experience that can scale with rapidly increasing production needs.
