Job summary

Aspire Bakeries LLC in Hazleton, PA is seeking an Operator 2, Bakery - Packing for the 2nd shift. The role focuses on operating and monitoring packaging equipment to ensure efficient flow, accurate labeling, and compliance with food safety standards.

You will support production with a focus on quality, labeling accuracy, and process uptime, while maintaining clean and safe work areas and following GMP guidelines. Previous packaging experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Basic math, recordkeeping, and timekeeping skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, stoop, and climb throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or move up to 50 pounds and frequently carry items weighing more than 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate and adjust packaging equipment to support safe and efficient production operations.
• Monitor packaging processes to maintain product quality, labeling accuracy, and production throughput.
• Verify food safety controls and support HACCP compliance to ensure product integrity.
• Inspect and validate case labeling information, including lot codes, use-by dates, and product codes.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate production records and communicate operational updates across shifts.
• Support a clean, safe, and organized work environment while adhering to GMP and safety standards.

About the Role

We are seeking an Operator 2, Bakery - Packing (Machine Operator, Subway Packing)-2nd Shift to join our team at our Hazleton, PA bakery. As an Operator 2, Bakery - Packing-2nd Shift, you will be accountable for operating and monitoring packaging equipment to ensure the efficient flow of finished products through the packaging process while maintaining food safety, product quality, labeling accuracy, and production efficiency standards.

Shift & Schedule

• Shift: 2nd Shift
• Hours: 2:45 PM - 11:00 PM
• Weekend Availability: Required as needed based on production schedules.

Core Accountabilities (What You'll Be Doing)

• Operate and adjust packaging equipment to support safe and efficient production operations.
• Monitor packaging processes to maintain product quality, labeling accuracy, and production throughput.

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

• High school diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Basic math, recordkeeping, and timekeeping skills.
• Ability to make sound decisions and resolve routine operational issues.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, stoop, and climb throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or move up to 50 pounds and frequently carry items weighing more than 20 pounds.
• Ability to work safely in manufacturing environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and production demands.

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

• Previous experience in a food manufacturing or bakery production environment.
• Experience operating packaging or automated production equipment.
• Knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and quality assurance practices.
• Experience completing production documentation and quality records.
• Experience training or assisting new operators in a manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

• Work around mechanical and electrical equipment in a manufacturing setting.
• Exposure to cold, wet, dusty, slippery, and hot conditions.
