Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months of FedEx Freight operations experience preferred.
• Experience leading, coaching or mentoring others preferred.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight of varying weights several times a week, lift dock plates ~100 lbs, and open trailer doors with ~75 lbs force repeatedly.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, bend, twist, and squat.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform duties of the assigned team.
• Coordinate loading/unloading of trucks safely and efficiently.
• Under guidance of management, coordinate work tasks for the team and ensure manpower is available.
• Ensure safe operation of material handling equipment.
• Follow established policies, procedures and job methods.
• Provide on-the-job training to team members.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings in absence of supervisor.
• Provide input to management regarding development and conduct issues.
• Keep management informed regarding productivity and methods.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
