Job summary

Charter Manufacturing is seeking a Talent Development Specialist - Operations to design and lead workforce capability and OJT initiatives across our manufacturing facilities. You will drive training plans, track outcomes, and partner with Operations, Quality, Safety, and Digital teams to improve safety, quality, productivity, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 5+ years in training, learning, manufacturing operations, or Operational Excellence.
• Proven success leading training programs in manufacturing/operations.
• Experience coaching frontline leaders, trainers, or SMEs.
• Working knowledge of structured OJT methods, standard work, visual management, daily management systems, and training measures.
• Strong facilitation, communication, project management, and stakeholder partnership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across multiple sites.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and training/data management systems.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead OJT support across plants by developing and executing training plans, learning roadmaps, reporting routines, and sustainment activities.
• Partner with stakeholders and SMEs to align training with operational goals and outcomes.
• Drive implementation and continuous improvement of OJT standards, workflows, and capability systems.
• Coach frontline leaders on training accountability, trainee progress, and workforce development practices.
• Conduct regular shop floor observations to reinforce training execution and provide improvement feedback.
• Translate insights into actionable recommendations to strengthen workforce capability.
