Job summary

Mercury Systems, Inc. is seeking an Operations Intern to support manufacturing throughput, material readiness, and production coordination. You will collect and analyze data, build reports and dashboards, and participate in cross-functional planning with Engineering, Quality, and Program teams.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement, lean concepts, and data-driven decision support. Internship runs May/June through August/September 2027 with no relocation support.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in industrial engineering, supply chain, operations management or a related field.
• GPA minimum of 3.1 is required; transcripts may be requested during the review process.
• Completed at least 1 year of undergraduate studies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and basic formulas.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
• Exposure to Lean Six Sigma tools - Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 5Y analysis, etc.
• Exposure to MRP concepts, forecasting methods or inventory management.
• Demonstrated leadership through an executive role in a club/organization/athletic team, etc.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily operational tasks related to manufacturing throughput, material readiness, and production coordination.
• Collect, organize, and analyze operational data to improve visibility and support decision-making.
• Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and performance metrics used by Operations leadership.
• Participate in meetings with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program teams to support planning and follow-up actions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on workflow efficiency, process consistency, or data accuracy.
• Support documentation updates, standard work, and operational procedures to ensure alignment and clarity across teams.
