Job summary

Mercury Systems is seeking an Operations Intern to support manufacturing throughput, supply chain activities, and data-driven decision making in a hands-on role.

You will collect data, build dashboards, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Program teams. This is a May/June to August/September 2027 internship with onsite Oxnard, CA and opportunity to learn core operations skills.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in industrial engineering, supply chain, operations management or related field
• GPA ≥ 3.1; transcripts required
• Completed at least 1 year of undergraduate studies
• Proficient with MS Office; Power BI a plus
• Exposure to Lean Six Sigma tools (Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 5Y analysis)
• Exposure to MRP concepts, forecasting methods or inventory management
• Demonstrated leadership through an executive role in a club/organization/athletic team

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily operational tasks related to manufacturing throughput, material readiness, and production coordination
• Collect, organize, and analyze operational data to improve visibility and support decision-making
• Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and performance metrics used by Operations leadership
• Participate in meetings with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program teams to support planning and follow-up actions
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on workflow efficiency, process consistency, or data accuracy
• Support documentation updates, standard work, and operational procedures to ensure alignment and clarity across teams
