Job summary

Penske Logistics is seeking an Operations Supervisor to guide a team of drivers and hourly staff at a Covington Township, PA location. You will ensure daily tasks align with customer requirements and company objectives, while managing scheduling, safety, and performance management.

The role involves hiring involvement, coaching, and ensuring operational excellence. The shift is Mon-Fri 2:00 PM – Finish, with potential weekend coverage during peak seasons, holidays, or staffing needs.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership qualities with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with associates, leadership, customers, and peers.
• Must have ability to work efficiently and independently with strong time management and organizational skills.
• Strong written/oral communication skills and the ability to actively listen are required.
• Ability to manage through a problem, think critically, and make decisions independently.
• Ability to drive process improvement and lead change.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required.
• Must demonstrate ownership & responsibility to run the operation with a sense of urgency.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Responsibilities

• Lead hourly staff and supervise drivers to meet customer needs and company goals.
• Supervise logistics operations including customer service, freight handling, dispatch and documentation.
• Conduct team meetings and evaluate changes to improve dispatch productivity.
• Provide relief coverage when shifts require time off or are understaffed.
• Maintain knowledge of site operating systems to ensure compliance and resolve issues.
• Complete records and reports in a timely, accurate manner.
• Oversee attendance, productivity, and performance standards with coaching.
