Job Title: Operations Supervisor (Temporary)

Location: Residence Inn New York World Trade Center, 170 Broadway, New York, NY 10007

Compensation: Hourly Rate: $16.50 - $20.00

Hotel Overview

The hotel, housed in a historic building dating back to 1903, is located on the corner of Maiden Lane and Broadway, within Manhattan's first jewelry district. It offers guests proximity to Lower Manhattan's popular sites, including One World Trade Center, the 911 Memorial & Museum, Wall Street, and Battery Park.

Job Summary

The Operations Supervisor (Temporary) is responsible for planning and directing hotel operations to enhance productivity and efficiency.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist the Front Office management team; support other departments such as F&B, Housekeeping, and Engineering.
  2. Maintain a strong lobby presence to assist front desk staff and guests.
  3. Manage shift coverage in F&B operations as needed.
  4. Balance hotel room type inventory.
  5. Ensure all lobby, Mezzanine, and F&B areas meet cleanliness and operational standards.
  6. Monitor and promote the Nor 1 upsell program.
  7. Handle guest requests and complaints during shifts.
  8. Perform front desk duties and responsibilities.
  9. Investigate and resolve guest complaints, disturbances, and emergencies.
  10. Manage employee payroll, attendance tracking, and overtime calls.
  11. Coach, train, and discipline staff as necessary.
  12. Perform Night Audit functions and generate related reports.
  13. Prepare and distribute reports as required.
  14. Handle special guest requests.
  15. Participate in meetings to foster positive employee relations and operational efficiency.
  16. Attend all required hotel meetings and training sessions.
  17. Participate in Manager on Duty (MOD) coverage as needed.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive hotel or related experience; or a 2-year college degree with at least 3 years of experience; or a 4-year degree with 1 year of experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Proficiency in Windows and approved office software.
  • Ability to work long hours when necessary.
  • Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong listening and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing a nametag.
