Job summary

DSV – Global Transport and Logistics is seeking an Operations Supervisor for the 1st shift to oversee inbound, outbound, and warehousing activities at the Northlake facility. The role focuses on labor planning, space utilization, and customer communication to achieve safety, quality, and cost objectives.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, 3 years of logistics experience, and 1 year in supervision.

Qualifications

Must have a High school diploma or GED.
3 years’ experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
1 year experience in a supervisory role.
Preferred: Prior MHE certification / knowledge of basic MHE operation.
Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.

Responsibilities

Supervise staff daily, plan inbound/outbound activities and space utilization.
Communicate with senior management and client representatives on critical issues.
Develop safe, productive systems for operations and equipment use.
Meet client KPIs and comply with Quality system requirements.
Lead HR activities including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
Train and evaluate warehouse staff; assign duties and monitor progress.
Plan daily work schedules and reallocate resources as needed.
Provide guidance, motivate, and coach team members to meet targets.
