Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a capable leader to supervise and develop a team, ensuring shipments are moved on time and damage-free. This role focuses on safety, cost efficiency, and exceptional customer service within a fast-paced freight environment.

You will plan manpower, assign daily schedules, monitor performance, and coordinate with colleagues and customers to uphold service standards. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Knowledge of LTL Industry, DOT Rules and Regulations, OSHA Laws, Hazardous Materials Regulations, NMFC and Tariff Rules, and company policies.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Multi-tasking and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, educate and develop company employees focusing on retention and growth.
• Supervise and direct employee work with focus on quality, safety, and customer deliverables.
• Educate employees on unsafe acts/conditions and apply corrective actions.
• Plan daily manpower needs and schedules for timely delivery and pickup of freight.
• Communicate job assignments clearly with all staff.
• Monitor service freight and ensure cut time compliance.
• Identify opportunities to cut costs while maintaining safety standards.
• Assist customers with rate quotes, claim information and setting appointments.
• Monitor performance data and gather information for reporting.
• Build positive relationships with business partners to maintain service standards.
• Ensure proper OS&D identification and processing.
