Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT is seeking an Operations Supervisor - Carpenters to lead a crew of hourly carpenters on overhaul, repair or new construction contracts. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of operations/trades/shipyard experience.
• Must be able to work all shifts.
• Minimum of 1 year EB experience or 3 years combined relevant experience and leadership in high-volume setting or an Engineering degree in a related field.

Overview

The successful candidate will provide technical assistance and overall direction to a team of hourly Carpenters. Core to this position is the successful performance of the teams Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule and Continuous Improvement. Effective communication, leadership, creating a positive team environment with employees and peers is key to success for the selected candidate.

This position of Operations Supervisor provides a platform to gain a working knowledge of various manufacturing environments and their relationships with other parts of Electric Boats business. • Must meet one of the following:
  • Minimum of 1 year related Electric Boat experience
  • Minimum of 3 year combined relevantexperience and leadership experience in a high-volume setting
  • Minimum of 1 year EB experience and an Engineering degree in a related field

Preferred

• 2+ years of related carpentry experience
• Apprenticeship Program, or Technical School
• Previous management or supervisory experience
• EB OJT / WL experience Knowledge of Electric Boat Operating System (EBOS/OWL)
