Job summary

UMass Chan Medical School is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead program operations focused on prior authorization and care management activities. You will supervise staff, manage day-to-day administrative tasks, and coordinate with information systems/technology for contracted deliverables.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, 4–6 years of related experience, and 1–2 years of supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 4-6 years of related experience.
• 1-2 years supervisory or leadership experience.
• Strong inter-personal and/or supervisory skills.
• Strong oral and written presentation skills.
• Strong analytic skills and proven competence in independent problem solving.
• Superior computer skills including strong knowledge of spreadsheet software and/or other system applications.

Responsibilities

• Manages program support staff to effectively accomplish departmental goals and objectives.
• Oversees day-to-day operations tasks, including resource allocation and project management.
• Monitors work volume to ensure staffing levels are adequate.
• Provides direct supervision to operations staff, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and termination.
• Supervises operations staff to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
• Ensures timely orientation and training of new and existing staff on procedures.
• Oversees interfaces with information systems/technology databases.
• Collaborates with Leadership Team to establish efficient office procedures and policies.
• Compiles and analyzes data, produces project reports, maintains project plans.
