Job summary

Central Transport LLC in Brook Park, OH is seeking an experienced operations leader to oversee inbound freight at a large 183-door dock. You will supervise drivers and dock staff, coordinate loading and forklift traffic, and ensure on-time performance in a fast-paced LTL environment.

The ideal candidate will have transportation or cross-docking experience, strong leadership, and comfort with technology. A degree is preferred but not required, and the role offers a competitive salary with

Responsibilities

• Oversee inbound operations within a 183-door freight facility for your section of the dock.
• Manage loading, forklift traffic, and proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Direct up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to meet production schedules.
• Build loads using independent judgment based on available labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper loading of carriers by monitoring cube and trailer weight.
• Provide leadership and accountability to drivers, dock workers, and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production to achieve KPI targets and maintain safety standards.

Salary: Up to $75,000 + quarterly bonus (10%)

Ideal Candidate Requirements

• Experience in a transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving environment (preferably within the LTL industry)
• Familiar with customs and cross-border transportation
• Strong leadership qualities
• Desire to surround customer with excellence in service
• High aptitude for technology
• The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• An Associates or Bachelor’s Degree, preferred but not required

Duties include, but are not limited to

• Oversee inbound operations within a 183-door freight facility for your designated section of the dock.
• This includes the process of loading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to achieve a designated production schedule.
• Utilizing your independent judgement to build loads based on available labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring the cube and weight of trailers
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
