Job summary

Central Transport LLC in the United States seeks a Terminal Ops Lead to oversee outbound operations for a designated dock area. You will manage loading, forklift traffic, and the proper sorting of palletized freight while guiding a team of drivers and dock staff to meet production goals.

Ideal candidates have experience in transportation or cross-docking, strong leadership and communication skills, and a solid comfort with technology.

Responsibilities

• Oversee outbound operations for the terminal dock.
• Manage loading, forklift traffic, and palletized freight sorting.
• Direct up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to meet production schedules.
• Utilize independent judgment to build loads based on labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring cube and weight of trailers.
• Provide leadership and accountability to drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production and KPI goals to meet or exceed targets.
• Monitor hours and overtime; maintain safety per DOT/OSHA standards.

Salary: $70,000-$80,000 + 5-10% performance bonus

Shift: Monday-Friday 10AM-8PM

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Experience in a transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving environment (preferably within the LTL industry)
• Familiar with customs and cross-border transportation
• Strong leadership qualities
• Desire to surround customer with excellence in service
• High aptitude for technology
• The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• An Associates or Bachelor’s Degree, preferred but not required

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee outbound operations for your designated section of the terminal dock
• This includes the process of loading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to achieve a designated production schedule.
• Utilizing your independent judgement to build loads based on available labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring the cube and weight of trailers
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
