Responsibilities

• Oversee outbound operations within a 50-door cross-dock facility for your section.
• Load, manage forklift traffic, and oversee palletized freight picking/sorting.
• Lead and develop a team of up to 30 drivers and dock personnel to meet production schedules.
• Build loads using available labor and freight; monitor cube and trailer weight.
• Ensure safety and compliance with DOT/OSHA standards and company policies.
• Monitor dock production and hours/overtime; maintain KPI goals.

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Experience in a transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving environment (preferably within the LTL industry)
• Familiar with customs and cross-border transportation
• Strong leadership qualities
• Desire to surround customer with excellence in service
• High aptitude for technology
• The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• An associate or bachelor’s Degree, preferred but not required

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee outbound operations within a 50-door, cross-dock freight facility for your designated section of the dock.
• This includes the process of loading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Manage a team of up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to achieve a designated production schedule.
• Utilizing your independent judgement to build loads based on available labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring the cube and weight of trailers
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
