Job summary

Central Transport LLC is seeking a seasoned Terminal Operations Supervisor to oversee outbound operations at the Providence terminal. You will coordinate loading, forklift traffic, and palletized freight, ensuring on-time performance and safety standards.

You will manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel, monitor hours and overtime, and lead a team to meet production schedules while upholding DOT/OSHA compliance and a culture of service excellence.

Qualifications

  • Experience in transportation, cross-docking, or shipping/receiving, preferably LTL.
  • Strong leadership qualities and a focus on service excellence.
  • High aptitude for technology and data-driven decision making.
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee outbound operations for designated section of the terminal dock.
  • Load management, forklift traffic, and proper unloading of palletized freight.
  • Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to meet production schedules.
  • Ensure proper carrier loading by monitoring cube and weight.
  • Provide leadership to drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
  • Monitor dock production and KPI goals to meet or exceed targets.
  • Monitor hours and overtime.
  • Maintain a safe work environment compliant with DOT/OSHA standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company operating model.
  • Support a culture of excellence in product quality for internal/external customers.

Shift: 10:00am-8:00pm Monday-Friday

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience in a transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving environment (preferably within the LTL industry)
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Desire to surround customer with excellence in service
  • High aptitude for technology
  • The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • An Associates or Bachelor’s Degree, preferred but not required

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee outbound operations for your designated section of the terminal dock
  • This includes the process of loading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing the proper unloading of palletized freight.
  • Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to achieve a designated production schedule.
  • Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring the cube and weight of trailers
  • Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
  • Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded.
  • Monitor hours and overtime.
  • Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
  • Ensure company operational model compliance.
  • Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
