Autonomous vehicles are the cornerstone of a rapidly changing mobility landscape. Transdev is at the forefront of autonomous vehicle (AV) technology, capitalizing on decades of management and operational expertise. We are developing and deploying AV solutions to help solve mobility challenges for cities, towns, and communities in North America and around the world.

Our goal is to help you launch autonomous operations that blend seamlessly with existing mobility options, expand connections within communities, and enhance the footprint of public transit.

Pay Range: $36.00-$42.00/hr

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain Transdev’s high standard of safety, inside and outside of the vehicle.
  2. Operate with safety as the primary goal.
  3. Communicate courteously with management, engineers, and the public.
  4. Respond to system emergencies; investigate and complete accident reports, incidents, and customer complaints.
  5. Public/customer-facing management and leadership of hourly workforce.
  6. Field work and on-the-road operations with workforce are required to dispatch, respond, and troubleshoot.
  7. Strategic planning and forecasting to meet client demands.
  8. Results-driven and capable of translating TAS and client deliverables, KPI and metrics to daily performance.
  9. Assist team members with payroll, interpersonal issues, and career development.
  10. Communicate announcements to the team and lead debriefs with safety messages at the forefront.
  11. Support the Client’s operations leadership team in daily operations management of dispatch, including mission assignment, leading meetings, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
  12. Coordinate, monitor, and supervise the activities of subordinates.
  13. Ensure compliance throughout the division to global process standards and work on continuous improvement initiatives.
  14. Respond to service problems and investigate unsafe location/situation reports; make recommendations and/or changes to resolve the unsafe situation.
  15. Develop and schedule program work plan in accordance with specifications in conjunction with the Client’s staff; oversee daily operations and coordinate activities of the program; determine priorities.
  16. Maintain high degree of confidentiality of all information.
  17. Application of policies, procedures, and standards throughout includes taking personal responsibility for the safety of self and others during testing.
  18. All other duties as required.

Required Education and Experience:

  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred or 2 or more years Operations experience in leading teams.
  3. Degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field preferred.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

  1. Proficiency with using a touchscreen smartphone (Android preferred but not required).
  2. Ability to use a computer to generate reports and schedules.
  3. Ability to read, understand, and interpret system operating rules, regulations, policies, phases, and routes.
  4. Good written and oral communication skills.
  5. Ability to organize and perform work efficiently; strong attention to details.
  6. An awareness and willingness to use Operational Excellence tools and techniques.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively to a large group of drivers.
  8. Experience with performance metrics and process improvement.
  9. Ability to work for different managers.
  10. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding department performance goals.
  11. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and analytical skills.
  12. Must be able to work early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends; flexible shift if needed.
  13. Must be eager, self-starter, and demonstrate good judgment in fast-paced, high-stress environments.
  14. Punctual, reliable, and team player.
  15. Travel up to 20% of the time.
  16. Available to be on call and responsive for 24/7 operations.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to manipulate; handle or feel; reach with hands or arms; and talk and hear.
  2. Must be able to withstand working outdoors in inclement weather.
  3. Frequently required to sit.
  4. Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl and smell.
  5. Occasionally required to lift up to 45 pounds.
  6. May work in extreme heat and cold, and in damp environments with moderate noise.
  7. Remaining work is accomplished standing and walking for up to 10 hours during shifts. May be conducted in an office or cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer; time is spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  1. Must be 21 years old.
  2. All Transdev employees must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Safety Sensitive Positions will also be subject to a physical screening.
  3. Transdev maintains a Drug-Free Workplace and may require participation in a random drug screening program.
  4. Transdev reserves the right to perform ongoing background checks for all employees except in states where this is prohibited by state law.
  5. Employees must maintain an acceptable Driving Record suitable for being approved to drive as part of their regular duties.
  6. Ability to qualify for an Autonomous Vehicle Tester (AVT) license in states and positions where it’s required.
  7. If based in the United States, applicants must be eligible to work in the US without restrictions for any employer at any time as required by the USCIS.
