Job summary

Leggett & Platt is seeking a Department Superintendent to lead the Triad Process in Branch One bedding operations, ensuring safety, quality and productivity in alignment with the branch mission and goals.

The role coordinates with Safety/Environmental, Quality Systems, Customer Service, Shipping, HR, Maintenance, Master Scheduler and CI to resolve issues, implement improvements, and maintain ISO 9001:2015 standards.

Qualifications

• Intimate knowledge of the manufacturing process used by the company.
• Product familiarity with product structures.
• Good understanding of MPR logic.
• Ability to work with numbers.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to supervise a large group in manufacturing.
• Willingness to work evening or overnight shift.
• Pursuit of formal training in safety, TPM, personnel management, and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Identify and stop non-conformance related to product, processes or quality systems.
• Take action to prevent non-conformities related to the product or ISO 9001:2015 system.
• Make suggestions for improvement and verify implementation of solutions.
• Know the location of and understand control plans, work instructions, and specifications.
• Oversee and work with production supervisors to solve work and personnel problems.
• Ensure departments operate at highest efficiency potential.
• Solve problems in materials, methods, or processes in their department.
• Monitor department product flow and overtime scheduling as needed.
• Ensure preventive maintenance tasks are completed effectively and timely.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness, and proper procedures are followed.
