Job summary

Cargolux Airlines International in Indianapolis is seeking a cargo operations professional to ensure proper freight acceptance and handling. You will support night, weekend and holiday coverage and be based in the office with occasional travel.

Responsibilities include ensuring flight and ground operations follow the Ground Operations Manual, maintaining compliance with safety and security rules, and coordinating with the Official‑in‑Charge during incidents.

Qualifications

  • Regulatory and compliance experience required.
  • Strong supervisory experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for training and coverage.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with policy application.
  • Knowledge of cargo handling systems is an advantage.

Job description

Task Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the correct execution of the various tasks concerning freight acceptance and handling.
  • Ensuring flight and ground operations are performed in accordance in the company's quality system as described in the Ground Operations Manual.
  • Required to be in compliance with all local and international rules and regulations relating to Safety and Security, and by monitoring the report of accidents, incidents and other ground occurrences, including reporting DG incidents, to the appropriate Authority as required.
  • Responsible to the Official-in-Charge (OIC) for coordinating all activities, as outlined in the company’s emergency manual Chapter 11 Station Nearest Accident, in the event of an accident or incident in their station.
Essential Requirements For The Position:
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Needs to have regulatory and compliance experience (required)
  • Strong supervisory experience (preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays (required).
  • Knowledge of Cargo Handling Systems is an advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills (required).
  • Strong analytical skills with both numerical values and applying policies to practice.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (preferred).
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for training and coverage (required).
Working Conditions:
  • The position holder is based in Indianapolis, Indiana
  • The position demands a regular presence in the office and requires vacation and other absences to be planned so as to avoid conflicting with service needs.
  • Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
  • Flexibility may be needed with working hours. The position holder shall keep informed their line manager on their whereabouts and the means of telecommunications through which they will be reachable for urgent company needs, while on company mission.
  • The position holder must possess a valid Driver’s License and Passport.
  • The position holder must be able to obtain an Airport ID.
  • Weekend and holiday duty assignments, either temporary or ongoing, may be required.
