Job summary

ifm efector, inc. in Malvern, PA is seeking an Operations & Quality Coordinator to support hands-on production assembly, quality checks, and materials planning to meet customer needs.

You will balance kit assembly, labeling, and packaging with inventory management and cross-functional coordination, contributing to on-time delivery and continuous improvement. A detail-oriented, fast-paced team player with ERP experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years in manufacturing, assembly, quality control, inventory management, material planning, purchasing, distribution, returns, or production coordination.
  • Experience using SAP or a similar ERP/WMS/EWM system preferred.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.

Brief Description The Operations & Quality Coordinator supports customer satisfaction and operational effectiveness by performing hands-on production assembly and quality activities while coordinating the materials, inventory, purchasing, and planning tasks needed to serve our customers. The Operations & Quality Coordinator supports customer satisfaction and operational effectiveness by performing hands-on production assembly and quality activities while coordinating the materials, inventory, purchasing, and planning tasks needed to serve our customers. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced production and distribution environment. A successful Operations & Quality Coordinator will balance hands-on assembly, kitting, labeling, packaging, and quality checks with inventory management, purchasing support, and cross-functional coordination.

Job Responsibilities
  • Follow procedure documents, work instructions, and quality control procedures to ensure all products and kits are assembled, inspected, tested, and documented according to specifications.
  • Perform light assembly, kitting, labeling, packaging, and visual quality inspections for production and customer builds.
  • Read and interpret drawings, diagrams, specifications, work orders, and reports to complete customer and inventory builds accurately.
  • Verify materials and components before assembly and maintain accurate production documentation, quality records, inspection results, and build records.
  • Receive, inspect, test, and record product results; confirm product meets specifications and communicate rejected or nonconforming material to the appropriate departments for resolution.
  • Put away approved material to designated storage bin locations and support receiving and warehouse activities as needed.
  • Monitor inventory levels and determine materials required to support production schedules, customer demand, and inventory builds.
  • Generate purchase requisitions and purchase orders for components, supplies, and production- related materials.
  • Coordinate with Warehouse, Purchasing, Demand Planning, Customer Service, Receiving, and Operations teams regarding material availability, production priorities, rejected material, and schedule changes.
  • Identify inventory issues, shortages, process concerns, quality concerns, or delivery risks and communicate them promptly for resolution.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts and assist with special projects or other operational activities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, quality control, inventory management, material planning, purchasing, distribution, returns, or production coordination.
  • Experience using SAP or a similar ERP/WMS/EWM system strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with hand tools and basic power tools; ability to read technical drawings, specifications, work instructions, and assembly documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining production, inventory, and quality records.
  • Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production and distribution center environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
