Job summary

Powers Plumbing & Heating is seeking an experienced Operations & Parts Manager to lead our San Diego service operations. This role collaborates with ownership, office staff, field technicians, customers, vendors, and suppliers to move jobs efficiently, manage inventory, support sales progression, and improve profitability.

The ideal candidate balances customer service, technician support, sales growth, efficiency, and profitability, with a focus on ownership, problem solving, and follow‑through.

Qualifications

• Experience in operations, service management, or field management within service trades.
• Knowledge of sales progression and improving service opportunities.
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced service environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day service operations and ensure effective communication.
• Manage parts, materials, inventory levels, and procurement.
• Coordinate with vendors to source materials and deliveries.
• Support field technicians with materials and information to complete jobs.
• Drive service sales through improving processes and follow‑ups on estimates.
• Improve conversion rates, ticket value, and overall revenue while maintaining service quality.
• Track estimates from initial contact to completion and keep opportunities from falling through.
• Coordinate service and installation projects including scheduling and permits.
• Support scheduling and dispatch to maximize technician productivity.
• Utilize ServiceTitan to monitor jobs, invoices, and performance metrics.
• Monitor job costs and profitability, identifying efficiency gains.
• Address escalated customer concerns and ensure issue resolution.
• Ensure proper documentation, inventory accountability, and quality control.
• Monitor fleet, equipment needs, and maintenance to keep field staff operational.
• Identify and implement process improvements across operations.
