Job summary

Powers Plumbing & Heating in San Diego seeks an experienced Operations & Parts Manager to lead day-to-day service operations, manage inventory, and support sales progression. You will partner with ownership, staff, and technicians to optimize efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction across residential and commercial work.

Qualifications

• Experience in plumbing/HVAC/home services or related service-trade environment is strongly preferred.
• Experience in operations, service management, parts management, field management, or similar leadership experience preferred.
• Knowledge of service sales processes and sales progression is strongly preferred.
• Plumbing industry knowledge is highly preferred.
• Experience managing or supporting field technicians.
• Experience purchasing, sourcing, and managing parts and materials.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced service environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, technicians, vendors, office staff, and ownership.
• Basic understanding of job costing, labor efficiency, material costs, gross margin, and profitability.
• Computer proficiency and ability to learn company software.
• ServiceTitan experience is highly preferred.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to occasionally travel locally to supply houses, customer locations, and job sites as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Manage Daily Operations - Oversee day-to-day service operations and ensure teams communicate and priorities are completed.
• Parts & Material Management - Order, receive, organize, and track plumbing parts and materials for service/installation.
• Inventory Control - Maintain inventory levels, monitor usage, reduce waste, ensure materials available when needed.
• Vendor Management - Maintain relationships with suppliers, obtain pricing, source materials, coordinate deliveries.
• Support Field Technicians - Assist with locating materials, equipment, and job documentation.
• Sales Development & Revenue Growth - Help improve sales performance and opportunities on service calls.
• Improve Sales Performance - Improve conversion rates, average ticket, and revenue while maintaining service focus.
• Sales Progression & Follow-Up - Track open estimates through approval, scheduling, and completion.
• Job Coordination - Coordinate service/installation projects, material ordering, permits, and communication.
• Scheduling & Dispatch Support - Maintain efficient scheduling and adapt to changes.
• ServiceTitan Management - Monitor jobs, estimates, invoices, and technician activity.
• Job Cost & Profitability Management - Monitor costs and identify efficiency improvements.
• Customer Service & Problem Resolution - Address escalated concerns and scheduling issues.
• Quality Control & Accountability - Ensure proper documentation and on-time completion.
• Fleet & Equipment Coordination - Monitor vehicles and equipment maintenance.
• Process Improvement - Identify inefficiencies and improve procedures.
