Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement is seeking a Manager: Operations & Manufacturing to help drive value creation across portfolio companies. You will gain a deep understanding of manufacturing and distribution operations and lead cost-improvement initiatives.

The role requires 7–10 years of experience with a focus on manufacturing and distribution, plus strong lean, six-sigma and analytics capabilities and proven engagement with executive leadership.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of professional industry experience, with at least 4 years in manufacturing and/or distribution.
• Deep expertise in supply chain, manufacturing strategy, and OpEx improvements.
• Proven track record with C-suite executives and private equity deal/operating partners.
• Strong analytical, process-mapping, and quantitative analysis skills.
• Experience leading change management and communication strategies.

Responsibilities

• Gain comprehensive understanding of target manufacturing and distribution operations—organization design, production capacity, efficiency, quality, planning, warehousing and team capability.
• Evaluate maintainability and operability of production facilities.
• Review current and historical data to understand efficiency & capacity, including equipment conditions, maintenance logs, spare parts and detailed production numbers.
• Provide shop floor insights by talking with employees and customers and reviewing all available data.
• Identify cost improvement opportunities through lean improvements, outsourcing or consolidation of facilities.
• Develop transformation plans to drive proposed changes and identify key risks and mitigation strategies.
• Implement and oversee the quality of deliverables and effectively manage the team and day‑to‑day relationships to ensure exceptional performance.
