Job summary

Van Cleef & Arpels in Short Hills, NJ, seeks an Operations Manager to oversee boutique operations, reporting to the Boutique Director. You will ensure efficient administration, inventory control and adherence to brand guidelines while driving team performance and stock integrity.

This role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years in retail operations, with strong Windows/Office skills and a proven leadership style. Some regional travel may be necessary; salary is discussed with experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; strong working knowledge of Windows, plus Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience in the luxury sector preferred; strong project management and communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities; minimum 7 years in retail operations.
• Willingness to travel within the region as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee administration, inventory, operations and logistics for the boutique.
• Ensure brand guidelines and procedures are understood and followed by the team.
• Monitor daily financials and ensure accurate reporting to corporate.
• Coordinate suppliers, daily boutique maintenance and stock replenishment.
• Lead and develop Vault team with regular meetings and updates on projects.
• Manage boutique stock, ensure compliance with Richemont guidelines and reporting.
• Track audits and action plans; monitor product movement and stock upkeep.
• Train new staff on financial guidelines, operations and sales processes.
• Improve working conditions by developing actionable plans as needed.
• Oversee daily opening and closing setup of the boutique.
• Collaborate with Richemont security management to enhance security.

What are we expecting from you?

Reporting to the Boutique Director, you will be responsible for the overall management and enhancement of boutique operations in accordance with Van Cleef & Arpels and Richemont guidelines, policies, and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance. As a member of the Boutique management team, the Operations manager actively participates and contributes to the overall team and the Boutique’s success. As an Operations Manager, one must be a true leader in the boutique, sharing VCA values with the teams and acting as a true Ambassador of the Maison.

In this role, you will:

• Plans, schedules, and ensures effective and timely presentation of all administration, inventory, operations, and logistics within the boutique.
• Ensures proper understanding and execution of all brand guidelines and procedures related to store operations with the team.
• Monitors daily financial aspects of boutique sales, ensuring daily transactions and paperwork are submitted accurately and on time to the corporate office.
• Manages supplier coordination, daily maintenance of the boutique, and supply replenishment.
• Motivates, supports, and develops the Vault team by regularly conducting team meetings and keeping them informed about new projects, upcoming events, and potential issues.
• Manages boutique stock and inventory, ensuring compliance with Richemont guidelines and reporting any potential issues.
• Ensures audit and action plan follow-up, monitoring all aspects of product movement and stock maintenance.
• Trains all new Boutique team members on financial guidelines, operations, and sales processes.
• Pays attention to working conditions and develops action plans to improve them if necessary.
• Responsible for the daily setup and unset of the Boutique for Opening and Closing.
• Collaborates with Richemont security management to enhance security efficiency in the boutique.
