Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join a brand-new Distribution & Fulfillment Center as it prepares to launch.

This is a unique opportunity to join at the ground level and help build the operation from the ground up. Rather than stepping into an established facility, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the processes, build the team, establish KPIs, and create the foundations for the site’s long-term success.

The site will be approximately 40,000 sq. ft. with a lean team of around 7–10 employees. As a result, this is a very hands-on role where you’ll have significant ownership and visibility across the operation. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable wearing multiple hats, making decisions, solving problems, and being close to the day-to-day operation.

The Role

You’ll play a key role in getting the facility ready for go-live before taking ownership of day-to-day operations across Fulfillment, Production, and Reverse Logistics.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the launch and operational setup of the new facility.
  • Establish processes, systems, KPIs, and operational standards from day one.
  • Develop staffing plans and build the initial operational team.
  • Lead day-to-day operations once the site is live.
  • Manage and develop the operational team, creating a strong culture of accountability and performance.
  • Ensure customer SLAs, quality, and operational targets are consistently achieved.
  • Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work with Engineering on layouts, kitting, refurbishment, and process improvements.
  • Manage budgets, forecasting, and operational costs.
  • Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve challenges and improve performance.
  • Take a proactive, hands-on approach to problem solving and operational delivery.
About You:

We’re looking for an experienced operations leader who enjoys building, launching, and improving operations.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Operations Management, ideally within distribution, fulfillment, manufacturing, or logistics.
  • Experience launching, setting up, or scaling a new operation is highly desirable.
  • Strong experience managing and developing teams.
  • A hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves approach and the ability to thrive in a lean environment.
  • Knowledge of warehouse systems, inventory, and distribution processes.
  • Proven experience delivering Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong customer, commercial, and KPI management skills.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
Why Join?

This is an opportunity to put your stamp on something from day one. You’ll have genuine ownership over how the site is built and operated, with the freedom to establish processes, build the team, and directly influence the success of a brand-new facility.

If you’re an experienced Operations Manager who enjoys autonomy, building teams, launching new operations, and being genuinely hands-on, this could be an excellent next step.
