Job summary

Coastal Waste & Recycling, Inc in the Southeast is seeking an Operations Manager to lead our post-collection facilities. You will oversee material recovery, hauling, disposal operations, and develop Operations Supervisors while ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient facility performance.

You will build a high-performing team, partner with municipal partners and regulators, and drive continuous improvement across sites.

Qualifications

Progressive leadership experience in waste management or heavy industrial operations.
Experience leading leaders.
Strong operational, environmental, and business acumen.
Commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and develop Operations Supervisors to build future leaders.
Own performance of post-collection operations including safety and compliance.
Develop Supervisors through coaching, field observations, and succession planning.
Staffing strategy: recruit, hire, onboard, develop, retain employees.
Champion safety culture with daily huddles and safety initiatives.
Ensure operations meet regulatory requirements and company standards.
Partner with technicians, maintenance, engineering, and vendors to maximize uptime.
Oversee loaders, heavy equipment operators, and facility personnel to maximize throughput.
Build relationships with municipal partners and customers to meet contracts.
Monitor metrics and drive continuous improvement.
