Job summary

Midwest Refrigerated Services is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the warehouse team and drive performance across staffing, safety, and customer service. The role focuses on building a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.

You will oversee daily operations, develop policies for inventory, layout, and processes, and collaborate with leaders to meet financial and service objectives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of warehouse operations experience in a supervisory position.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications and ability to learn applicable application software
• Possess strong communication (oral and written), statistical and analytical skills
• Ability to multi-task and maintain workflow while professionally responding to issues as they arise in a fast paced environment
• Ability to lead as a hands on manager that engages at the team level and is flexible in schedule in order to adjust and respond to operational needs
• Ability to travel to other MRS locations, customer locations, and training/networking opportunities

Responsibilities

• Accomplishes warehouse operations and human resource objectives by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
• Achieves warehouse operations objectives by contributing warehouse operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends.
• Meets warehouse operations financial objectives by forecasting labor requirements; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
• Develops warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements; developing, implementing, enforcing, and evaluating policies and procedures; developing processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management, and shipping.
• Develops warehouse design by planning layout, product flow, and product handling systems; evaluating and recommending new equipment.
• Develops warehouse operations system improvements by analyzing process work flow, manning and space requirements, and equipment layout; implementing changes.
• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
