Job description

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all duties related to the operations department. This includes but is not limited to overseeing employee hiring and corrective action programs, DOT compliance for movers and trucks, ensuring that day-to-day operations are successful, coordinating customer service/care, problem solving, and setting the culture for an operations department that completes 5,000+ moves a year with 50+ full time employees.

Responsibilities

• Oversees hiring and training of movers and drivers
• Tracks and schedules truck maintenance
• Oversees the daily scheduling of trucks and movers
• Manages operations staff to ensure all job duties are completed daily, weekly, and monthly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or operations preferred. High School education and a clean driving record is required
• 6 months to 1 year of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® or moving industry experience is preferred
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong team player with the ability to listen and communicate in an effective, helpful and friendly manner with co-workers, customers and management
• Language Skills: ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization; bilingual is a plus
• Reasoning Ability: ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations with limited standardized procedures. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished with written, oral, diagram or schedule form
• Physical Demands: the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk, sit, hear, use hands and fingers, handle, feel and/or lift with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to lift 100 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
