Job summary

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK is seeking an Operations Manager in the Springfield, Missouri area to be the heartbeat of the franchise. You will drive daily sales and profits, build and train the crew, and maintain DOT compliance while upholding brand standards.

You’ll lead safety culture, fleet maintenance, and customer resolution efforts, stepping in when the GM is away. A Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience are preferred. Relocation may be encouraged as part of ownership potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, management or related field.
• 5+ years of business or management experience.
• Experience in moving, transportation, logistics, or similar service operations.
• Bonus points if you dream of ownership: relocation willingness could lead to owning another franchise.

Responsibilities

• Promote and protect the brand, own daily/weekly/monthly and yearly sales and profit goals, and use reports to identify wins and trim costs.
• Determine staffing needs, interview, hire, onboard and train new team members, and keep DOT and Driver Qualification files up to date.
• Lead employee development, coaching, corrective action, and accountability to franchise standards; assist with workers' comp and unemployment claims.
• Lead safety culture, fleet maintenance, and equipment inventory; stay compliant with DOT and FMCSA rules.
• Handle customer concerns and oversee damage resolution to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Serve as after-hours emergency contact and participate in community/industry associations; take on other projects from the General Manager.

Every great move has someone behind the scenes making it all click, and at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® that someone is you. As our Operations Manager, you are the heartbeat of the franchise: you keep the trucks rolling, the crews motivated, the customers smiling, and the numbers heading in the right direction. You'll run each day safely and successfully, hit our sales and profit goals, and keep us in step with our franchise agreement, system standards, and all applicable laws. You'll also help lead our Great Game of Business Profit Sharing program, where the whole team plays to win together and shares in the results.

What You'll Do

• Champion our brand and numbers: promote and protect the brand, own the scoreboard for daily, weekly, monthly and yearly sales and profit goals, and use financial and performance reports to find wins and trim costs.
• Build an all-star crew: determine staffing needs, interview, hire, onboard and train new team members, and keep all DOT and Driver Qualification files in top shape.
• Grow and coach people: support employee development, lead fair corrective action, keep everyone accountable to franchise standards, and assist with workers' compensation and unemployment claims.
• Keep us safe and rolling: lead a strong safety culture, keep safety policies current, oversee fleet maintenance and equipment inventory, and stay compliant with DOT and FMCSA rules.
• Make customers say "wow": handle concerns with a cool head and oversee damage resolution so every issue is made right.
• Be the one who's always there: serve as the after-hours emergency contact, keep learning through STICK MEN UNIVERSITY®, get involved in community and industry associations, and take on other projects assigned by the General Manager.

Leading the Crew

You’ll guide and support all of our movers and drivers day to day. When the General Manager is out, you step up and take the wheel with delegated authority for the franchise.

Who We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in business, management or a related field, and 5+ years of business, management or other relevant experience (both preferred).
• Experience in moving, transportation, logistics, delivery, fleet operations, warehousing, or a similar service-based operation is strongly preferred
• Bonus points if you dream of ownership: with the financial backing and a willingness to relocate, you could start or take over another franchise.

• Deep knowledge of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® policies and the moving industry, plus recruiting and retention know-how.
• Strong fleet safety, maintenance and transportation experience.
• The ability to lead by example, motivate and develop people, and make strong decisions.

• A knack for assessing performance and turning it into improvement or corrective action.
• A friendly, professional, relentless go-get-it attitude with sharp focus and an eye for detail.

A Day in the Life

Most of your time is in the office, but this isn't a desk-only role. When we're short on movers, or when it's time to train, you'll hop on a truck and complete a move with the crew. That can mean lifting up to 100-500 pounds (with a partner or equipment for the heavier end). Travel is minimal, though it may be needed for training or to finish a move across state lines.
