Job summary

Streetplus Company, LLC in Washington, DC, is seeking an Operations Manager for Georgetown. The role oversees the Cleaning Ambassador program and represents Streetplus and the Georgetown BID, spending 75–80% of time on streets supervising tasks to improve the environment.

You will recruit, train, coach and mentor staff, coordinate with customers and Streetplus teams, ensuring service levels and safety standards are met. Strong leadership on site is essential.

Qualifications

• At least five years of verifiable supervisory or management experience in retail, customer service, janitorial, security, law enforcement or landscaping.
• Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office products and smartphones.
• Possess a valid state driver’s license and a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customer representatives to ensure objectives are met per service agreements.
• Maintain contact with Streetplus supervisors and office to ensure tasks are carried out timely and professionally.
• Provide guidance to supervisors and employees to improve service levels.
• Recruit, select and train new employees per Streetplus standards and procedures.
• Discipline, coach, mentor and, when needed, terminate staff per policies.
• Deliver training to new and existing staff and provide refresher trainings.
• Ensure employee relations meet Streetplus standards and maintain satisfaction.
• Maintain records for equipment and supplies assigned to the customer.
• Collaborate with customer representatives to sustain satisfaction and address problems.
• Develop relationships with municipal agencies to gain community value recognition.
• Communicate program achievements to customer representatives via reports.
• Review ambassador reports and maintain open communication with staff and customer representatives.
• Work with Streetplus corporate on new strategies and service delivery.

The Operations Manager has overall responsibility for the Cleaning Ambassador program, acting on behalf of Streetplus Company, LLC and the Georgetown BID. The Operations Manager is a working manager and will assist with the completion of daily tasks being completed by the outdoor cleaning ambassadors. The operations manager is expected to spend 75-80% of their time on the street overseeing and completing tasks that improve the environment within the District.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Interact with representatives of the customer to ensure all objectives are achieved in accordance with the service agreement between Streetplus and the customer.

• Maintain interaction with Streetplus supervisors and corporate office to ensure employees are carrying out operational tasks and assignments in a timely and professional manner.
• Provide insight and direction to supervisors and employees in order to improve the level of service delivered.
• Recruit, select and train new employees as necessary, following Streetplus standards, guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Discipline, coach, mentor and terminate employees as necessary, in accordance with Streetplus standards, guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Deliver training to new employees and deliver supplemental training in the form of specialized, advanced, refresher, shift and other training segments in accordance with Streetplus standards.
• Ensure interactions with employees exceed Streetplus standards in regard to employee relations.
• Maintain a high level of employee satisfaction.
• Ensure all administrative and operational policies and procedures are followed by supervisors and employees.
• Maintain records that account for all equipment and supplies assigned to the customer.
• Work closely with representatives from the customer to maintain satisfaction and to identify and correct communicated problems with services.
• Develop relationships with various municipal agencies so the program will be embraced and recognized as a value to the community.
• Communicate (verbal and written) to representatives of the customer program achievements in the form of reports.
• Review all reports submitted by Ambassadors.
• Maintain open and regular communication with employees and representatives of the customer.
• Work closely with Streetplus corporate staff in the development and implementation of new strategies, program elements and service delivery

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• At least five years of verifiable supervisory or management experience in retail, customer service, janitorial, security, law enforcement or landscaping industry.
• Proficient with computers and software, to include Microsoft Office products and Smart Phones (cellular telephones).
• Possess a valid state driver’s license.
• Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to safely operate all mechanical equipment.
• Ability to participate and pass basic first aid and CPR.
• Ability to see at near and far distances (Corrective lenses acceptable).
• Ability to hear normal conversations at 20 feet, and whispered conversations at 10 feet with or without the assistance of a hearing aid.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time and/or walk several miles during an 8 or 12-hour shift.
• Ability to lift twenty-five pounds of trash or other material and dump into waste container.
• Ability to function in extreme heat or cold conditions with variations in weather.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
• Ability to follow instructions and retain information.
• Ability to speak clearly and communicate effectively.
