Additionally, this position will manage inventory and negotiate with vendors for the purchase of materials, supplies, equipment, and services to be used by the branch.Essential FunctionsOverseeing daily activities to optimize scheduling and maximize real-time utilization of resourcesAnalyzing and recommending part-time, flexible, and full-time employee mix for the siteCommunicating branch operational procedures to the branch manager as well as employees within the locationEnacting contingency plans as needed, escalating and directing activities during times of trouble, disasters, etc.Identifying potential problems, troubleshooting, and escalating issues to local and network managementParticipating in analysis at the conclusion of problems, and providing input for future process improvementsReviewing ongoing performance results to targets, taking corrective measures as needed at the direction of the branch managerParticipating in daily, weekly, monthly, and annual planning processes as appropriatePerforming all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of the branchMaintaining favorable working relationships with all other employees to foster a positive work environmentMaintaining a qualified staff for all employees directly reporting to the positionRecommending pay adjustments, transfers, promotions, and dismissals of direct reportsTraining and developing individuals for assigned roles and future advancementManaging inventory as well as negotiating with vendors for goods and servicesCompetenciesProficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and ExcelCustomer/client focusKnowledge of project managementHigh degree of professionalismDecision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skillsOrganizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skillsDetail-orientedSupervisory ResponsibilityThe Operations Manager has multiple direct reports at the discretion of the Branch Manager.Working conditionsWork EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk.This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary.Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. The employee must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.Education and ExperienceMinimum 5 years of operations and/or management experience in the Electrical Distribution Industry requiredHigh school diploma requiredCollege degree(s) preferred
