Job summary

WM is seeking an Operations Manager Trainee responsible for onboarding, developing, coaching, mentoring, and performance management of all drivers and helpers. This role spends the majority of the day in the field with frontline employees to establish positive relationships and support effective daily duties.

• Associate's Degree (accredited) or in lieu of a degree, High School Diploma (accredited) and two (2) years of relevant work experience.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
• Driver's License – Valid Driver's License Upon Hire
• Preferred: Successful completion of the WM Operations Manager Trainee program

Responsibilities

• Onboard, develop, coach, mentor, and manage performance of all drivers and helpers.
• Spend majority of time in the field with frontline employees to build relationships and support daily duties.
• Provide timely and consistent touchpoints and feedback to frontline staff.
• Lead safety practices and WM Way across the workforce.
• Document and maintain records required by regulatory agencies such as DOT.
• Review route operations documentation daily and address issues.
• Visit customers to evaluate safety and service options.
• Conduct root cause investigations for injuries and incidents, with proper discipline and retraining.

• Conducts Root Cause Investigations for all injuries and incidents, ensuring consistent discipline and retraining.
